For the truly adventurous, Collision Devices presents an interstellar sonic quest unlike any other. The Black Hole Symmetry is a definite departure from other ethereal and spacious effect pedal experiences. Massively powerful and endlessly deep, the Black Hole Symmetry offers an escape from the ordinary in favor of new tonal routes.
The Black Hole Symmetry is host to three independently engageable – and incredibly engaging – effects. Featuring a fuzz, reverb, and delay effect with independent footswitches and control dials, this pedal, like the brink of a black hole itself, is easy to fall into and a journey to escape. Though of course, all in the name of musicality.
The first effect, Singularity, summons a ferociously free-flowing fuzz controlled by one of the most enticing and alluring dials ever put to a pedal chassis, Disintegrate. Its size is not just for show, however. Disintegrate alone controls the shape and size of Black Hole Symmetry’s fuzz to push the experience along when it needs a gravitational kick. The second effect, Event Horizon, is a pitch-shifted reverb effect. This effect is controlled through Echo, Radiancy, and Pitch settings. The combination of these three controls adjusts the decay trail of the reverb, the proportion of pitch shifting in the signal, and the amount of pitch shifting to notes played. Finally, the Black Hole Symmetry’s Ergosphere modulated delay effect features extensive controls and two modulating oscillators to get deeply spacious and experimental. Ergosphere’s two oscillators can be controlled through the Speed and Trimmer dials, perfectly poised to be offset and create some deep-space noisiness or atmospheric swells and echoes.
The Collision Devices Black Hole Symmetry offers a new take on pedals that specialize in sounds made for stargazing. Easily experimental yet airtight in its setup, the Black Hole Symmetry offers a musical voyage too attractive to refuse.
