As part of the groundbreaking series, the Fender Tone Master ’59 Bassman dials in to deliver authentic tube tonality with digital technology. While the Tone Master series has already brought itself to Reverb and Princeton series amps, this new development takes on a new challenge create the authentic tube sounds of one of Fender’s most famously dirty amps. Four ten-inch speakers and no tubes within care to take the plunge?
The original Fender Bassman is legendary for its forty-five watt power output, quad-speaker configuration and formidable size. With a tone all its own when pushed, this classic from the Fender legacy is your vehicle for authentic blues breakup. This Tone Master version delivers on the same iconic sound through some real digital wizardry resulting in an incredibly accurate sonic profile with deep customization options. Hook up this Tone Master with your most powerful guitars or dirtiest pedals and hear the classic tube heat burst from the four Jensen P-10R Alnico speakers.
This Bassman model plays with the same forty-five watt power performance as its tube counterpart, but offers five attenuation settings to roll back output power to fit different performance scenarios. The onboard attenuator operates to deliver authentic Bassman tonality and accommodate different thresholds of volume, making it a perfect companion for a variety of performance sizes. Performance considerations also come to the surface with this Tone Master’s balanced XLR line output with impulse response cabinet simulations that offer a direct XLR connection from the amp to a mixer or interface. Further, a USB port opens the field of connectivity even wider for firmware updates from Fender.
Operating with striking similarity to its tube version, the Tone Master Bassman dials in with Normal and Bright channels, both with dual inputs. An onboard DSP reverb breathes some lush life into the bluesy Bassman voices while a three-band EQ and Presence control sculpts the amp’s tonality even further. In addition, a rear-panel “Vintage-Tight” switch swaps the Bassman into a tighter low-end response voicing. Across the Bassman’s control scheme, a colorful spectrum of sounds blooms to deliver fine Fender tonality.
This Tone Master model is topped off with a number of bells and whistles to bring the whole experience home. A post-power amp effects loop appears to assist in integrating time-based effects into the Bassman tone formula. Along with this, a two-button footswitch punches in interactivity with the amp at a quick, ground-level reach. An included cover protects this amp from dirt and grime across its tweed wrapped, lightweight, solid pine cabinet.
The Fender Bassman is a classic in its own right. With this Tone Master series entry, the sounds of classic blues heat come alive with the adaptability modern players deserve.
