The PRS SE Kestrel bass combines classic design elements from 34 scale single coil bass guitars with a modern neck through construction. Neck through design increases tonal transfer and sustain compared to bolt-on style instruments. The neck itself is 3 layers of maple reinforced with 2 walnut stringers for unmatched structural integrity. The Kestrel neck profile is smooth and comfortable with a 2 31/64 nut width. Neck binding and a lean 10 radius add to the comfort. The body is alder producing bright, classic bass tones. For even more versatility the Kestel Bass is loaded with a Hipshot TransTone bridge which allows the player to choose between top-load and string-through. At the headstock, Hipshot HB6 machines keep the bass steadily in tune. The Kestrel 4B S pickups deliver a powerful, punchy bass tones and dynamic controls via the 2x Volume, 1x Tone configuration.
