Martin X Series Special D-Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Koa w/Gig Bag

Martin’s ever expanding X Series just birthed a new guitar: this Koa Special, featuring a dreadnought-shaped body, made from High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) and Koa. Much like its X Series siblings, the Koa Special sports an eco-friendly High Pressure Laminate body that defies changes in temperature and humidity. The laminate is topped with a koa-patterned finish, while the top sports X-style bracing that intensifies the guitars resonant response.

The Koa Special Dreadnought’s neck features a natural birch laminate that complements the body’s forward-thinking construction, featuring a high-Performance Taper profile for a comfy playing experience. With the X Series’ mission statement revolving around sustainability, the fingerboard is crafted from FSC-certified richlite, a composite material that offers sonic characteristics similar to rosewood and ebony, while also requiring little maintenance due its similarity to HPL when it comes to changes in environment. On this richlite board are Martin 28-style dots, evoking classic craftsmanship the brand’s higher end custom guitars are known for, as well as 20 frets.

The Koa offers a total scale length of 25.4″, and Ping Chrome tuning machines grace its headstock. It also comes with a custom gig bag for safe transport.
