This Grand Auditorium Taylor guitar shares the same tonal and build properties to its relative 114CE, only without a Venetian cutaway.
With the 100 series of guitars, Taylor excused lavish and ornate appointments instead for a more stripped-down instrument predominantly relying on the most important features to make a true Taylor guitar. That said, the 114CE features a Sitka Spruce top, layered Walnut back and sides, a genuine Ebony bridge and fingerboard, and Taylors ES2 Expression System. Layered back and sides lend towards less susceptibility to damage brought on by change in weather and climate acclamation, all without being constructed of non-wood or other composite materials.
The Taylor 114CE fears not to tread on the most grueling of bar or club gigs, especially considering its Expression System electronics make it stage ready. This guitar is also an easy choice to take to the beach or backyard party, being its layered construction and non-gloss finish make it less on the owner to worry about making the first or next scratch. The term next scratch should be highlighted, as the 114CE is made to be played! And in terms of nexts, the 114CE also makes for a great choice of next guitar for existing Taylor owners who may have some higher end Taylor guitars already and want something easier to take around.
Presenting its broad stylistic coverage to any or all season of musician, the 114CE is a Taylor Guitar for everyone.
