The Epiphone ’63 Firebird I from the inspired by Gibson honors the heritage of Gibson’s original Firebird models celebrated by music legends such as Johnny Winter and Eric Clapton. This guitar recreates the timeless designs introduced by automotive visionary Ray Dietrich in 1963.
Made with a 9-ply neck-through-body construction of mahogany and walnut, complemented by mahogany wings, this ’63-inspired masterpiece features an offset body shape with a deep lower cutaway for seamless access to high frets.
The neck, crafted from a blend of walnut and mahogany, is crowned with an Indian laurel fretboard topped with Mother of Pearl dot inlays spanning 22 frets. Boasting a total scale length of 24.75″ and a GraphTech nut measuring 1.692 inches wide, this instrument is as precise as it is visually striking. Adding a touch of distinction, the headstock is adorned with Kluson “Banjo-style” Planetary tuning machines.
Beneath its sleek exterior lies the power of Gibson USA Firebird mini humbucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, delivering a classic tone that elevates this guitar above its peers. Control is at your fingertips with master volume and tone knobs, meticulously hand-wired with CTS pots.
This Firebird showcases a stunning Inverness Green finish, accentuated by a matching painted headstock and nickel-plated hardware. The inclusion of a wraparound Lightning Bar bridge adds to its vintage-inspired flair. This instrument comes complete with a hard case.
