Starting at square one with a classic double-cutaway body made of alder, this J Bass form is instantly recognizable and effortlessly playable. This choice of alder serves many purposes, yet prominently carries an easy weight and acts as a great foundation for musical ideas to flourish. A Modern C-shaped maple neck joins the fray as a smooth connection for the left hand. Across the palm, this neck wood and profile are easy and slick for quick trips from higher to lower registers. A slab rosewood fingerboard meets up with this maple and measures with a 9.5 radius. Twenty Medium Jumbo frets line the board for quick playing and effortless fretting to get playing quickly.
The voice of this J Bass, punchy and articulate, comes from two Player Series Alnico 5 Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups that roll through a variety of exciting bass tones perfect for blending into any mix. A 4-Saddle Standard bridge grounds strings to the body while a set of Standard Open-Gear tuning machines and a synthetic bone nut meet at the other end of the guitar to account for solid intonation and quick stringing.
Bringing the best of the Jazz Bass experience to every player, this Player II Series entry has all the exciting elements of a Fender classic with modern playability in mind. Its a Jazz Bass as its always been known.
