The Ibanez Artcore AGB200 semi-hollowbody bass is part of Ibanez’s Artcore series that debuted in the middle of 2002. This series was created with the aim of providing a budget-friendly selection of full-hollow and semi-hollow body guitars, designed to attract guitarists looking for quality gear at an affordable price. The AGB200 semi-hollowbody bass combines the familiarity of bass guitars with the resonance and rich tone usually associated with hollow body instruments.

The body of the AGB200 is built from a linden back, sides, and top finished with a beautiful natural stain under a satin polyurethane coating, allowing the grain of the top to be seen clearly through the finish. The bass also features two F-holes and a single cutaway for an easier access to the upper range of the fingerboard.

A key contributing factor to the AGB200’s sound is its 3-piece maple and nyatoh set neck, designed to provide added sustain. This neck features an Artcore Bass profile, and is host to laurel fretboard with bound edges, as well as a 15.75-inch radius, 22 medium-sized frets, and classic dot inlays. This bass also features a shorter than average, 30-inch scale length, a staple feature of the Artcore series. The set neck joint helps maintain optimal resonance and sustain.
