This is the Ross Fuzz, a pedal never before released during the original run of Ross Pedals. Thanks to a partnership between Josh Scott and Cameron Ross, JHS Pedals have now taken over the marketing and manufacturing of Ross.
Original Ross founder, Bud Ross, also has a history with Kustom amplifiers. Kustom was one of the most used live amplifiers in the late 1960s and 1970s, with artists such as Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, and the Grateful Dead grow the company before selling to Baldwin Pianos in 1972.
This fuzz circuit comes from the Kustom K-200B amplifier, famously used by John Fogerty in his time with Creedence Clearwater Revival. The fuzz sound can be heard on tracks such as Run Through the Jungle and Fortunate Son.
The Ross Fuzz isnt quite like any other known fuzz circuit and is now in a stompbox format for the first time. Like all of the Ross pedals, controls are simple – here with Level and Fuzz. A two-way mode switch on the pedals side selects between Standard and More mode, with More supplying additional bass and gain.
Ross Pedals are excitingly back and ready for the next generation of its history!
