The Taylor Academy Series Dreadnought combines affordability and quality.Tailored specifically for budding musicians, the foundation of the Academy Series Dreadnought lies in its thoughtfully selected back and sides featuring layered sapele, a choice known for its durability and tonal balance, complementedby a solid Sitka spruce top, a hallmark of premium acoustic guitars. The amalgamation of these tonewoods results in a body that resonates with a bold response, characterized by a warm low end and a pronounced, punchy treble a sonic profile that caters exceptionally well to the preferences of both strummers and flatpickers.
This Dreadnought incorporates a distinctive feature typically found in high-end instruments: a built-in armrest. This innovation takes the form of a beveled edge on the treble-side lower bout, making tthe guitar much more comfortable to play. The armrest is crafted with Neo-Tropical Mahogany binding.
The patented Taylor neck further contributes to the guitar’s exceptional playability. With a slightly shorter 24-7/8-inch scale length and a 1-11/16-inch nut width, this neck design prioritizes ease of fretting and bending, facilitating a smoother playing experience, allowing players to navigate the fretboard with precision.
Crafted from maple, the neck material ensures stability and resilience, while the West African Crelicam Ebony fingerboard adds a touch of sophistication. The fingerboard iscovered with 4mm Dot Italian Acrylic inlays, providing both visual appeal and guidance of the frets. The Academy Series Dreadnought features a Nubone nut and Micarta saddle, contributing to the guitar’s sustain, resonance, and tuning stability. The matte finish not only adds a touch of understated elegance but also allows the wood to breathe and resonate freely.
Precision in design extends to every detail, as evidenced by the Three Ring Baltic Birch rosette, whichhighlights Taylor’s attention to detail in this affordable guitar.
