This 1966 Vox Bulldog is from the first year of production and is in excellent condition. The guitar was made in Italy and is a factory second (as indicated on the back of the neck and body), possibly because of a slight finish imperfection on the back of the neck that does not affect the playability. Its impossible to tell for sure what makes this a second after all these years, but it certainly doesnt affect the feel or tone. It is very reminiscent of a Mosrite Ventures model in look and feel, but with a 3 single coil pickup configuration. The 3 way selector activates each of the pickups independently without combination.
The 3 knobs are as follows starting with the one closest to the bridge:
-Bridge: Master Volume for all three pickups
-Middle: Middle Pickup tone knob
-Neck: Neck Pickup tone knob
The neck is slim and skinny allowing for fast, easy playing and the metal nut in combination with its hearty weight lend to great sustain. This guitar has a zero fret, an ebony fingerboard, a carved Mahogany body, a laminated Maple neck and a spring loaded Bigsby Style Tremolo. Great player grade vintage at an affordable price.
