Walrus Audio’s Mira optical compressor is a bit of an anomaly. As a compression pedal that goes above and beyond, it’s a pedal to click on, notice, and then forget about. This forgetful quality the Mira can impart comes down to the natural and high-quality compression it creates. As a perfect “always on” addition to your board, Mira’s compressing capabilities come through to deliver on heaps of clarity, sustain, and headroom. A deep control interface includes your attack and release controls as well as a dedicated Make-Up knob to retain unity levels after your signal has been compressed. In addition, a push-button High Pass Filter prevents frequencies 120Hz or below from engaging the compressor as much as higher frequencies. The Mira runs at 15V internally for that boosted headroom and operates with 9 Volt DC power. Like all Walrus Audio pedals, it is best run with isolated power – daisy chains not recommended.
